What is an FUE hair transplant?
A Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE, hair transplant is a harvesting method of hair transplant surgery. Many consider FUE a minimally invasive method because a small “punch” is used to harvest single hair grafts one at a time. The result is hundreds or thousands of round “holes” where the donor hair follicles are taken.
Is FUE hair transplant permanent?
An FUE hair transplant at the Crown Clinic can be extremely long-lasting and they’re one of the most successful hair loss treatments currently available. It is normal for your hair to shed after a few weeks after having your FUE hair transplant, once this has happened your hair will grow in the transplanted areas after around 3-6 months and it will be much stronger and healthier. The newly transplanted hair will continue to grow just as it did when it was in the donor area, and your new hair growth will be permanent.
Does FUE hair transplant leave scars?
Within one to two weeks after surgery, the side effects of an FUE transplant (such as bruising and swelling) should no longer be visible. Though scarring may be very minimal in most cases, the growth of new hair does usually cover the area and thus any visibility of scarring.
How much does an FUE hair transplant cost?
Every FUE hair transplant is unique to the patient’s individual needs. Some might need a relatively minor hairline correction. Others may need a significant restoration. The ultimate cost of your FUE hair transplant will depend on the scope of the procedure. The price and any other concerns or questions you hold will be discussed during your consultation with the Crown Clinic.
Preparing for the procedure
Once you’ve had a full consultation with your doctor and are scheduled for the procedure, there isn’t much else you have to do. Make sure you have everything arranged for your recovery in advance, including taking time off work if needed.
